2019 Las Vegas INTERNATIONAL BAKING INDUSTRY EXPOSITION

The International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), also known as the Baking Expo, was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from October 8 to 11, 2019. The event, which is the largest of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, attracted more than 21,000 baking professionals from over 100 countries, who came to explore the latest innovations and trends in the grain-based foods industry.

IBIE 2019 was a record-breaking show, with a 28 percent increase in exhibitors and a 9 percent increase in attendees compared to the previous edition in 2013. The show floor covered more than 700,000 square feet of exhibit space, featuring more than 1,000 exhibitors from all segments of the baking supply chain. The exhibitors showcased a wide range of products and services, including ingredients, equipment, technology, packaging, and supplies.

IBIE 2019 also offered a comprehensive educational program, called IBIEducate, which featured more than 90 sessions on topics such as baking science, business management, marketing, sustainability, and sanitation. The sessions were designed to provide practical solutions and best practices for the challenges and opportunities facing the baking industry today and in the future.

One of the highlights of IBIE 2019 was the B.E.S.T. in Baking Program, which recognized exhibitors and attendees who made a positive impact on the environment, energy, and sustainability. The program honored 16 companies for their achievements in reducing water usage, energy consumption, carbon footprint, and waste generation.

IBIE 2019 was co-owned by the American Bakers Association (ABA), the Bakery Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds (BEMA), and the Retail Bakers of America (RBA), and supported by 30 allied associations. The event was a non-profit endeavor, with all proceeds invested back into the grain-based food industry.

IBIE 2019 was a success for both exhibitors and attendees, who were able to network, learn, and discover new opportunities for growth and innovation. The next IBIE will take place in September 2022, once again in Las Vegas.
